NASET (National Association for Special Education Teachers)

Today I became a member of NASET
(National Association for Special Education Teachers)
It is an organization that seeks to promote standards of excellence and innovation in
special education research, practice, and policy in order to
foster exceptional teaching for exceptional children.
The website has varies types of resources in which benefit me
as a student and future Special Education Teacher.

I looked into the online store that NASET has on Amazon and found
some interesting reading materials. I then looked for them on
half.com and found prices that were
a bit lower. I am looking into purchasing several of
these for future references.

Resourceful and Informational Websites

I am trying to become organized an keep track of everything. Well everything that is important to me, and of course of great interest. I am writing to document, things that at one point or another may be forgotten but are important.

I participated recently in my second adopt a class community service project with the club that I am a part of and it was a great experience. SCEC also known as Student Council for Exceptional Children is an organization that advocates for people with disabilities. It is a great organization in which helps those in our community with simple things such as having a Thanksgiving Feast or a nice Spring picnic. The organization also "adopt's" a school in Mexico right across the border that was privately funded by a Special Education teacher. I love being a part of it and have gained many wonderful experiences because of it.

Moving on to why I started this post. I found some interesting links on Kelle Hampton's blog and would like to keep record of it hear.

My Personal Educational Blog

I decided to create a blog in hopes of being able to interact with others on related topics. I am currently a senior in college looking to graduate May 2012 and will be released into the world of education. I am an EC-6 Generalist major with a specialization in Special Education All Level.
